This inaugural East Coast GEM conference provided graduate admissions professionals with insights, knowledge, and new skills that added to their existing admissions toolkit.

On June 6, 2024, the MGH Institute of Health Professions hosted the NEGAP Summer Conference in Boston, MA.
The conference featured a day of individual and team-based professional development workshops and activities supporting the various career paths within Graduate Enrollment Management.

Dr. Maria Sirois is an inspirational speaker, consultant, and licensed psychologist who has worked in the fields of wellness and positive psychology for twenty years. Her work in the medical, legal, human service, financial, technology and educational sectors focuses on building capacity and engagement around chronic stressors such as conflicting goals, difficult conversations, unrealistic expectations and moments of failure — using such moments to leverage sustained positive shifts in perspective and ability.
As prospective grad student behaviors, intentions, and decision-making continues to evolve, it’s imperative to stay tuned in to as much of the insights, perspectives, and data we can to inform our approach. In this session, we’ll dive into updated trends, benchmarks, and survey data from Google, LinkedIn, Carnegie and more – all focused on the prospective grad students we’re needing to reach, engage, and enroll. From student search behavior and social media activity, to changing options surrounding data privacy, audience access and reach, and segmentation and personalization, this session will lean on the most up-to-date and reliable data and resources for your recruitment planning.
DISC is a personality profile tool used to improve teamwork, communication, and productivity in the workplace. Facilitated by Dr. Amy Wilson, Chair of the Higher Education Administration Department at SUNY Buffalo State College, this interactive session will provide participants with an overview of DISC and the various personality profiles, how to use DISC in our daily interactions with others, and how we can leverage this knowledge to create more positive and motivating work environments.
Join a panel of current students to learn more about their journey through the graduate school admissions and enrollment process. Students who applied both pre and during the pandemic will share insights into barriers they faced, how they communicated with admissions officers, what they did to make their choices and more.
